Before you start the Template - Templates Support Area
Save the new Template to your machine:
From the email we send you - save the
attached Template zip file to a place on your machine that you
can find, like your desktop.
Open the zip file to make the Template folder:
Newer Windows versions from XP come with an unzip
utility, if you do not have this then please use the Google
search box below to search for Win Zip File.
If you need a zip program for a different OS
- try a search for your OS name zip etc.
This section is a guide for unzipping the file using the Windows XP zip utility.
:
1: Double click on the JT00000 zip file that
we have emailed you. This will bring up the extraction wizard. Click File/Extract all. The wizard window will popup, click next.
2: You will now be prompted for a folder to extract to. Use a
place that you can find latter - like your desktop. Once you
enter the place to extract to, click next.
3: The template folder and all the parts you need are now extracted to your
machine.
Make copies of the Template:
You need to make a few copies of the
Template for other pages and as a backup in case you need to
start from a good Template again. You need to find the
Template file where you saved it from the email, then look for
the file that is called Template000001.htm, now copy and paste
this file, call the new file the page name you want - like
contact.htm (you must have .htm at the end). Make a
backup copy called master.htm, so you have one to make new
pages from as you need to.
Open the Template for editing:
Now you have the Template saved and you
have copies to work with you can start changing the text and
images. You can use Notepad (below) and many other programmes,
we are going to use Notepad as this is the easier way and you
should have a version of this program. Select the
Template page to change with the right mouse button, then
select the "Open With" menu, the click
"Notepad".
Save
you Template after changes:
When you have made any changes to the
Template you can save it be going to the file menu at the top
right and clicking save. This will save the Template as
it is now.
Viewing
or testing the Template:
You can view the changes at any time once
you have saved them, find the file you want to view and double
click it, it will open in a website browser, what you see is
what it will look like once you have it online.
Putting
your new Website online:

You are now ready to change the
Template in to your new Website.
